This has been a fascinating thread... though quite old. I'll take a shot and post, anyway.I saw nothing regarding
the difference between any caffiene containing substance and coffee in regards to depression. In my experience, coffee is far a better anti-depressant than
tea or other caffiene conting beverages. In fact I've never found anything that
works for me better... natural or prescription.
It 'lights up my brain" and makes me feel "normal". It isn't the amount off caffeine
that's making the diffence, because no matter how much tea I drink, it
will not substitute for coffee. What I'd like to find out is what would the
other properties in coffe be that would account for this improved anti-
deprressive effect, and is there a medication that has isolated it?
There is a rough edge to coffee/caffiene intake I'd love to avoid.Thank you for any light you can shed on this,
Ron
