I got into deep depression about 2 months ago....I never realized a person could feel so desperate. I was prescribed Effexor 75mg for a few days and then up to 150mg. As I was warned, things got worse before they got better, but they have got a lot better and I have felt really good for about 3 weeks now. I've started going to gym and I'm seeing a therapist and that is helping too. The side affects I experienced for the first 4-6 weeks were difficulty in urinating and constipation, impotence, blurred vision and loss of memory and concentration (although neither has ever been great). The side effects have largely disappeared, but I am disturbed by the difficulty people have in stopping the drug. I've been told that no antidepressant is easy to stop, so is Effexor any worse than the others?
