Karin:
I don't know what part of the world you are in, but an excellent OTC drug available at any drugstore is called "Drammamine" in the U.S., and "Gravol" in Canada. (It's generic name is
Dimenhydrinate.) I use this often when starting meds, and it was a *major* help with Effexor. It will knock out your nausea *bang on*, and is nothing short of excellent for this. Keep an extra supply on hand. I have tried others, and *nothing* works better than this. It has a mild sedating effect, which also helps with the jitters and shaking.I would say, honestly, look no further than this. You will be happy you did.
Best,
Jay
> Hey. I'm taking effexor for the second time in 7 years. The first time I went off it due to shakes, sweats, and nausea (perhaps all associated with the nausea?). But, nothing else has worked so I'm giving it another try. Does anyone know of herbal remedies preferably, or drugs, to lessen the effects of the nausea? Also, I'm more anxious...is this a side effect that may go away, or is just part of the effexor beast? Thanks for any info.
