Effexor has a very short half life, it leaves the system faster than many of the other ad's, thats why the withdrawal is worse. Prozac has a very long half life, therefore has fewer withdrawal problems. AD's do not add anything to your brain chemistry. They block some receptors that do not need to recieve serotonin, therefore allowing more to be recieved by the receptors that need more of the stuff to make you happy.
