I guess I am just the opposite of judy -- I think you need to tell your pdoc everything. While he may not be happy you did this on your own, I think honesty in the relationship with your pdoc is important -- the relationship is dependent on the trust you develop, and it is a two-way street. Taking the med on your own is one step of not trusting, but then not fessing up is another, I think, bigger step. If your pdoc is worth anything, while he may be upset, he shouldn't abandon you over your choice -- he should work with you. If he is going to abandon you over this, you probably don't want him anyway.
