That's how I did it; I increased it every couple days, since the side effects weren't especially troublesome. I really didn't find Nardil hard to tolerate at all (and I ended up taking it all in a single dose).
The main problem I had was orthostatic hypotension, which for me resulted in a couple of fainting spells. Staying hydrated is important if dizziness is a problem. Salt tablets can also help. If that isn't enough, there is a medication you can take for orthostatic hypotension (Florinef) although it might have side effects of its own. For me, the dizziness was transient and went away completely after the first few weeks.
There was also insomnia, but it was more like I didn't *need* as much sleep; what I was getting was quality sleep and I woke up feeling refreshed.
The other major side effect I had from Nardil was weight gain. FWIW, I've heard that women are more likely to gain weight from meds than men are, and I have known people who didn't gain on Nardil.
