The above link should give you some good info. You should know that there are 3 types of ephedrine. Ephedra (Ma Huang) is an herb that contains ephedrine alkaloids in it-not recommended. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant used in cold medicines & has virtually no stimulant properties & therefore is probably a waste of time for you unless you have a cold.

The ephedrine that you want if you are looking for a stimulant is either ephedrine hydrochloride or ephedrine sulfate. This is synthetic ephedrine & is much safer than herbal Ephedra, Metabolife etc. since the quality controls are much better with 'synthetic' ephedrine. It also has stronger stimulant properties than Ephedra (Ma Huang).

Synthetic ephedrine is available in only 3 sources. Bronkaid Asthma tablets (25 mg ephedrine sulfate per tablet), Primatene Asthma tablets (12.5 mg ephedrine sulfate per tablet), Mini Two Way Action tablets (not the herbal mini-thins) (12.5 mg ephedrine hydrochloride per tablet).

Mini Two Way Action tablets are the strongest since ephedrine hydrochloride is slightly stronger than the ephedrine sulfate in Bronkaid & Primatene. I highly recommend to you Bronkaid Asthma tablets because of higher quality control & because they are available at every grocery & drug store while Mini two ways are only available at truck stops & dingy convenience stores in bad neighborhoods.

Synthetic ephedrine is always sold with an expectorant called Guaifenesin in it. Don't worry though, this ingredient doesn't do much of anything at all, is very safe, & it is in there primarily because it makes it impossible for criminals to manufacture methamphetamine from ephedrine tablets.

You should never take more than 100 mg in a 24 hour period. Ephedrine raises blood pressure & heart rate dramatically (more than amphetamines).

I found that 2 Bronkaid tablets (50 mg ephedrine) & one No Doz or Vivarin (Caffeine 200 mg) works very well as a stimulant to help you get up for work, & enables you to get more work done. Also, if you take this combination one hour before both breakfast & lunch, it is an excellent thermogenic weight loss medication. Do not take ephedrine after 2 pm or you will experience insomnia. If this combo feels to "speedy" to you then just take one 25 mg Bronkaid tablet instead of two.

Tolerance does build fast to ephedrine though. If you can get a prescription from your doctor for dexedrine, or adderall, or ritalin (all of which are attention deficit disorder & obesity medications) I would recommend those over ephedrine since they are much more effective & safer (less blood pressure increase).

Ephedrine or Ephedra (Ma Huang) therapeutic effects: Dry mouth, dry throat, decongestant, dries up excess phlegm, mucous in throat, relaxes chest muscle for easier breathing for asthmatics.

Ephedrine & Ephedrine (Ma Huang) Side Effects: rise in blood pressure, rapid heart beat, heart palpitations, nervousness, insomnia, "speed" feeling, loss of appetite, weight loss.
