From what I have read, I don't think there is any problem taking 80 mg of Prozac. If that doesn't work, you could add Lithium which oftentimes makes Prozac more effective. Otherwise, maybe you should try something else like Effexor.
> I have been on Prozac almost a year. I never had any major side effects at any time. I quickly went to 40 mgs; some months later [with my pdoc's okay] I went to 60 mgs. I have always had a low stress tolerlance. I went back to 40 mgs to try to take the least amount. Ny pdoc said I was good on 60 mgs so I've been taking that now a couple of weeks. I feel like Prozac was much better in the beginning. Im trying 80 mgs starting today; I never had side effects at all dosing up or down, Is 80 mgs okay to try? Paxil worked well for me, but had too many side effects. I hate to keep trying ADs; a lot of them agitate me including Serzone, 30 mg Celexa; Zoloft did nothing. My friend is on 80 mgs but has been on Prozac 12 years. I'm not even on it a full year and I need a higher dose. I take Xanax 2x day .5 mgs [sometimes once a day at night] Help, please! Any suggestions.
