It is reasonably well know that a practically unavoidable start-up effect of Remeron is **extreme** drowsiness, due to the histaminergic effects. The body needs time to adjust to this (at least a few days). After that, morning sedation can be a problem. Remeron does enhance sexual functioning though. There is some evidence that the appetite increase only remits at higher doses ( >45mg) if at all. I took Remeron for a month @30mg/day, and then tapered down to 7.5mg for awhile after that. I slept like a ROCK, and was not able to overcome the morning drowsiness. My appetite was definitely increased also.
