PMS alternative in Canada / Yasmin/Alesse 21

Posted by sid on January 21, 2002, at 9:36:22

As some of you may know, Yamin will be available in Canada in a few years, as it has not been approved yet. In the meantime, Allesse 21 can be prescribed without interruption, four boxes at a time, then one week off, then four boxes, then one week off, etc... so that a woman gets 4 or 5 period a year max. I don't know if it's possible with other brands of pills; I think it has to be monophasic (same dose in all pills), so perhaps it's doable with others. In any case, it's good news.

So, if PMS is a problem, talk to your doc about this alternative. Even though I am on the pill, AND antidepressants, my cycle affects my mood still. So my obgyn suggested trying this. I must say I am glad and can't wait to see how it goes. I hope smoothly.
