I don't know of any attempts to use Effexor to treat cocaine addiction. Some risks of combining the two are elevated blood pressure (which can cause, for example, stroke), cardiac arrhythmias, psychosis, and seizures (and that's just what I can think of off the top of my head).

I think the interaction is a pharmacodynamic one only.
