> Someone should start a dating service for psychiatric patients. Who the hell else would understand what the hell we are talking about half the time except another nut. How hard is it to approach 'normal'people when you've branded yourself a psychiatric patient? How do you think your newly found partner would feel in the morning with you reaching into your 20 bottles of pills and strange foreign supplements (the birth control & allergy medicine excuse doesn't work when you have 10 different kinds of pills in your hand!). I have to hide my psych drug stash whenever people come over, let alone sleep over. Then I have to throw my DSM and PDR under the bed or in the closet, make sure that errant shrink bill isn't lying around somewhere and hide all my obsessive writings that talk about yatta yatta yatta Rx this, Dx that, syndrome this. Even then my bookshelves are loaded with books such as "Biological Unhappines" and "Psychiatry".

> ScottHi! This is my first post, so I hope I get this right. I so hate to
be less than perfect. :-) I agree that we need some way to
hook up with others who can understand. I am Bipolar I and "normal" people just don't seem
to have a clue. Even when they do try to understand. I get tired of feeling
alone. So, if anyone has any ideas on how we can get this sort
of "personal ad" service started, pass them on. These ads could make for
some very interesting reading. I have been thinking that my next relationship should
be with another bipolar. :-)By the way, this board has been invaluable during the time I've been lurking.
I finally decided it was time to take the leap and
jump on in.WelshKat
