When I was on Parnate (another MAOI) a long time ago, my doctor added a small dose of Ritalin to the Parnate to counteract extreme daytime somnolence caused by the Parnate. At first, I was afraid to take the combo, and I went out and bought a blood pressure monitor. For the first few weeks, I was constantly checking my pulse and blood pressure, but everything was fine. Parnate by itself lowered my blood pressure drastically (it was too low). When the Ritalin was added, my blood pressure never went above normal (120/70). I don't know about the ventricular arrhythmias, but I had no cardiovascular problems on that combo.
