Hey thanks you lot, that a fair few suggestions to try out.
I'm going to try lots of water, apples and potty training. If those don't work, I'll give the metamucil wafers and Movicol [uk equiv of miralax] a go. I've read in several places it's not a good idea to be on stimulant laxatives for a long period of time so I'll try those last.
