Clonidine is a possible prescription solution to your problem. Alpha-adrenergic-receptor agonists, especially clonidine, stimulate absorption and inhibit secretion in the intestine. 0.6 mg twice daily can usually be tolerated.
OTC remedies include _berberine_ or psyllium, herbal substances used to treat diarrhea in Asia. berberine was found to be effective than tetracycline for relieving diarrhea associated with cholera and has some clinical efficacy...
Also, in one study aspirin was found to be effective for acute diarrhea in children.
