Hi Mr. Scott,
I've made some really good strides getting my mood under control and also my pain management. This is step 1 and gets my life back in shape so that I can function in society (back at my job, etc). I'm still having some problems with agitiation/med induced hypomania, but I think I can tweak this with my pdoc (still haven't tried the Li!). I'm doing much better today than I was months ago and I've gone for a sustainable period of time without serious physical pain and/or depression.
Now, what I am leftover with that I really would like to deal with are my non core non-bipolar II symptoms. These are leftover symptoms from PTSD: emotional numbing/blunting (loss of "tender feelings"), feelings of detachment, thoughts about a forseshortened life. I'm worried that dealing with this is going to be tougher. Seems that research hasn't spent jack diddly on PTSD and the axis II disorders that fallout of this like borderline or antisocial personality disorder. I also seem to have ADD symptoms or something, but they are really nebulous. I have some compulsive behaviour that may be ADD or OCD or something but it is fringe and my 1st pdoc believes it is more a psychological tool I to "cope" with my other problems (I think I'm goint to concur with him).
So that's where it stands. Not perfect, but still in the ballgame fighting.
Thanks for keeping up. You really are a kind person. I hope you are doing well!
Regards,
John
