I think it is helping both. I notice I can do this "moderation" thing once in a while. Seriously, it's helped both and also with my repetive negative thinking patterns.
I've been on over 20 different AD meds in the past 6 years and don't have the greatest recall. However, more than a few meds gave me such horrendous side effects that I didn't stay on them long enough to poop out on them. So, I won't bore you with those.
Meds that worked well for me but pooped that I can remember clearly: Prozac, Wellbutrin and an Effexor/Topomax combo. I had a good experience on Prozac, esp the first time I tried it and it didn't poop out for almost 6 weeks. I went off and on it many times (BAD IDEA - see above posts) and each time the poop out period came sooner. The Effexor/Topomax combo worked great for 3 months. Wellbutrin was WONDERFUL for about 2 weeks than seemed to completely stop all benefits all together. Everybody's different, as I'm sure you know but thanks for asking. Good luck with your regimin and hopefully if it is working well, it will continue to do so for as long as you need it.
