A Xanax Question

Hi,

I have been taking Xanax and it is working well although I would like to find out more about the pharacology of the drug.

It is a fact I believe that it has antidepressant effects in its ability to elevate serotonin levels. My question is how does Xanax elevate serotonin leves. Does it stimulate the release of serotonin? Is there a seroternergic metabolite?
