Welbutrin-induced muscle pain?

Posted by LH on April 17, 2002, at 17:13:47

Hope someone can help me out here. I'm a 37 y/o male with a hx of mild depression for which I have been on welbutrin 150 mg/day for ~5 months. Six weeks into the regimen, I began to experience severe lumbar back spasms, arthritis-like pain in my right shoulder region with radiation down my right arm, and C-spine stiffness. Flexiril and chiropractic care only made matters worse with rebound pain that all but incapacitated me. Extensive X-rays of my back and neck are unremarkable for arthritis or any other skeletal anomalies. NSAIDs are only marginally effective and after a couple days at the level I need to even reduce (usually not eliminate) the pain, I experience gastric distress causing me to abandon alagesics altogether. I'm seriously considermig stopping my welbutrin to see if it is a causal factor in this chronic pain. Has anyone else had an experience like this w/ welbutrin?
