well, i went to my family doctor and asked for him to prescribe amisulpride, and basically he said no way in hell. he offered me dexedrine for my attention problems and i simply thought that it would be better than nothing. took 10 mgs of extended release and 5 mgs of the quick acting stuff. felt a notable lift for about 6 or 7 hours this morning, but it wasnt till i took the 5 mgs that i had any drastic effect. for about 3 hours i felt much more motivated, concentrated, self confident, and my apathy was notably less. i really shouldnt say much more, because it helps about 25% with everything, but considering this is my first response to anything med at all, that aint bad. finally my theory about dopamine insufficiancy is coming to surface, at least a bit. does dexedrine built up at all? i understand that it doesnt, but who knows. also, what is the usual dosage for someone who is 18?
its strange that ive been offered dex many times within the past 3 years, but i always thought that it was for hyperactive kids who cant stop talking. nothing like me. also, i have never responded well to a single stimulant, so this is quite suprising to me.
to close, i would like to say that if you have problems with dysthymia, social anxiety, lack of motivation and concentration and the like, and you havent found anything that helps (ssri's, maois, klonopin), you may want to try the drug that your little brother jimmy is taking. it just might help. ill be happy to answer any other questions if i can.
