Those two meds are newer atypical antipsychotics and cause a decrease in dopamine activity. That will help some people with agitation and anxiety or enhance effects of antidepressants. (as well as the more traditional use of treating psychosis). They are useful to have tried since they seem to help a number of not too related problems.
My personal experience with xyprexa was a worsening of my anxiety because I had too much trouble thinking and ceased to be able to direct my body or mouth to do anything I wanted. I felt like an alien.
Does he worsen on stimulants?
