> i was on 40mg paxil and 15mg buspar and began to feel hypomanic. i was getting a lot done and feeling good and my sleep or appetite was not disrupted. my doctor decreased my paxil because of this and no i'm feeling completely anxious and depressed. my question is, is being a little manic so bad? it's much better than the state i'm in... maybe i should go back to the higher dose of paxil?
Hmmm..
I try to maintain hypomania for creative reasons.
It's different obviously for individuals..but eventually the high mood does tend to drop quick and hard and with time the episodes IMO get more intense and rapid...being happy forever is something the brain just can't maintain.
Hypomania can cause you also to do silly things on a whim which may annoy other's or the bank balance..it's like being drunk ..having fun then spend the next week apologising to everyone : ) and wondering why your friends have left...
and there's the risk of mania.
No way would I advise anyone to do this , you have to decide for yourself , it's not as romantic/fun as it sounds -have to take the bad with the good , and the bad can get really bad.
take care..
