In reply to Lofepramine (Gamonil / Lomont) any experiences ?, posted by ben on May 5, 2002, at 14:44:18
Hi Ben - I believe Lofepramine is only available in Europe (I'm writing from the UK), so there probably aren't as many case histories on this as on some of the other ADs.
I took Lofepramine on two occasions for endogenous depression with associated anxiety. I found it worked very well - alleviated symptoms pretty quickly, and was neither stimulating nor sedating so I didn't feel medicated. The only real side effect was increased flushing (this was in my younger days, however, and I seem to have become more med sensitive in the past few years).
For me, Lofepramine was far preferable to SSRIs.
Best wishes
Lizzy
