Can depression/anxiety cause physical pain?

This is something I'd never heard of before. But I've been going through a period of anxiety (after being too depressed to care about anything for a while) and I've started getting all these stabbing pains in my back, neck and shoulders. Could it just be stress? Has anyone else had this happen?
