I find myself yelling at my parent for the stupidest reasons. My reaction is to attack the thing that attacked me so I yell at my parents as if they're running their nails down a chalkboard to annoy me when all they actually did was ask a question or make a chewing sound while chewing their food at dinner. Do you think risperdal would help with this kind of thing? Is this what is meant by agitation or what then? If not Risperdal, what might help? Most anti-depressants really bring this out of me and Nardil certainly has as well. Do you think once Nardil kicks in this will go away? Any thoughts you or anyone else on this board may have are greatly appreciated.

I don't know the answer to your agitation question. Have you discussed
this agitation topic with your pdocs in the past?
Is this some form of mixed agitated hypomanic state?Turkey shoot..
Hmm, I wonder if a beta-blocker like Inderal would help with the
startle-response? It can make your mood a bit flat. Does your heart race when
you become reactive (good indicator for a beta-blocker to help)?
Maybe the hypotensive effect wouldn't be good with Nardil though....Anyways, I've heard from a few people that they did better on Risperdal than
Zyprexa when dealing with lethargy. But you may want to poll more people.
Risperdal is older, it may have some of its own quirks, I haven't taken it.I'm still on Lithium. No side effects. I got my blood test to see the
levels, but no results yet. 3 weeks so far. No results on mood. I restarted
Topamax because I had a headache and I had a hypomanic run this weekend.
It was a nice break from my last few weeks of depressive dispair.Hang in there and keep us posted!
