headiness, fidgeting and farewell to alcohol?

Posted by jello on June 12, 2002, at 2:13:31

Hello all,

I have been on Effexor XR for 3 months now, at 150 mg...found this webpage and am interested to see if others shared similar effects and side effects.

Depression / anxiety is depleted (yeah!) and focus increased. Definate increase in confidence, perceptiveness and ability to handle things calmly. I am less moody and more even...best of all, I am less obsessive and paraniod. So far, its been great... But there have been some side effects.

I still get some very sleepy days, including a bout for around 2 weeks last month when I just slept and slept.

Drinking alcohol is awful. Have often used alcohol to self-medicate (old habits die hard). I now become intociated very quickly and terrible hangovers even with light drinking. Notice I am down for days following a post-Friday with the friends at the local bar. I know the obvious is to stop this, but am wondering if others had similar effects?

In addition, has anyone experienced headiness? I get tingling in my face and head constantly, sometimes legs / arms. I also sometimes get bursts of fidgeting, with feet or leg shaking - more intense than previous.

Thanks - great to discover this posting and hope all feel better soon,
Jello
