> I am wondering if Effexor will be calming after the horrible anxious/agitatioin side effects go away. It is torture, is it worth going through for a month. I am bipolar and pdoc is trying to treat my ADD with this med. I guess I am trying to make a decision whether to ditch it or bear through it. Any advice?

In my case, 150mg Effexor/day almost immediately reduced my massive anxiety/agitation levels to a manageable degree. Unfortunately, it has yet (after a month or so) to reduce the levels any further. I shall continue and hope for the best. (By "manageable levels" I mean that I can get through the day well enough to function, but cannot sleep without medication. If you are not prone to insomnia, this may not be a problem.)

Good luck,

Mr Beev
