This is just my theory as to why these
meds seem to poop more often then others.Effexor and Remeron, affect norepenephrine
as well as seritonin. To my understanding
seritonin is the one that really affects the
core of depression, the presistantly sad
mood. When you initially start on Remeron
or Effexor, the norepinephrine makes you more
physically active, you are out walking more
and other stuff, this activity in the mind
can tend to take ones mind off the core mood
which may not have all the seritonin it needs.
On Effexor etc, you are less likely to be sitting
in a chair contemplating your mood. After a little while however, you stop and think about your mood and realize it is not where it could be and then you get depressed again. This sounds a little far fetched but consider this:When I first tried Effexor, I was very active. I was so overjoyed by the fact that I had the energy and coordination to play the piano again. After impressing myself for a few weeks with my newfound ability I exhausted it and realized that my core mood was still low.
If you are on effexor or Remeron or any other than affects norepinephrine, stop and sit down, thing about how you really feel, you may need stronger seritonin activity.
In my oppinion they are not pooping it is your mind that is changing gears.
