I was put on oxycontin a few months ago for pain in my chest, probably related to depression. (well,
definitely related to depression.) Given by doctor who has a specialty in pain management.I can't afford the oxy, so now am switching to methadone. I'm kinda glad. I was treated like a junkie ; ambushed during my multiple hospital stays this past year to get me off opiates--not my idea). Now I wonder if I'll be looked at as an ex-junkie, e.g. trying to help myself. Not as bad, although I don't think I'll be going back to any psych hospitals for the rest of my life, if I have anything to say about it. I'll get the meth
from my doctor, don't need a clinic because it is being used for pain, not detox, or to cut need for heroin. (Never tried heroin and don't plan to-- ever.)Well, to move on to the point of this post.
I wondering if anyone has been treated for depression with methadone?
For anything? Detox, staying away from heroin, whatever.
Just curious about dosing, helpfulness, tolerance--having to increase dose, like I did with oxycontin.
Thanks,
Shelley (R)
