I noticed almost immediate relief from shaky hands, slurred bungled speech, etc. that I got from Depakote and lamictal (I got 'the rash'). Unfortunately, at 'theraputic dosage' (1200mg for me) I got 'hyponatremia' - critically low blood sodium levels. Look up both trileptal and hyponatremia so you'll know what side-effects to watch for. My doc and I both had high hopes and it would have worked great for me BPII-wise. But the hyponatremia, while uncommon, could have killed me had I not suspected it myself and asked for a lab test. Give trileptal a try but arm yourself with knowledge.
