lithium, mania, depression...

Posted by turalizz on July 23, 2002, at 10:13:01

Can anyone explain to me why they augment some antidepressants with lithum, a mood-darkening/CNS slowing agent, to increase the effectivenes? How can something that works for mania increase the effectiveness of AD's? Same goes for omega-3 fatty acids. Are they good for mania, or depression?

thanks,
cem
