I was on zoloft for around eight years. Actually, it really worked for me-could say it saved my life. I remember feeling having some problems at the beginning- but its been so long I don't remember what they were. Anyway, I stuck with it and felt good for a long time.
I stopped taking it due to physical problems I thought were due to the med, but I actually think they are due to other things-hormones, thyroid, etc. . .I'm working this right now with my MD. Also, women metabolize this med slower than men so I may have needed to lower the dose.Anyway, I was off zoloft for a little while after slowly tapering the dose over a month- after eight years, you want to go slow- and I was fine.
After being med-free for a very short time, I tried some other a/d's, but didn't like them and am back on zoloft again.I found this to be a pretty good med. I have scary stories I could tell you about other meds I've tried, but not this one. I should know, was/am on it long enough!
