Numb tongue/metallic taste?

Hi:

I just started Effexor about a week ago...37.5mg. I've noticed that my tongue is numb and has a wierd metallic taste to it. Is this something that will go away? How long? I don't want to increase my dosage until I know for sure that this will go away, because it's an unacceptable side effect to me.

Help?
