In reply to Inositol interactions??, posted by jflange on September 8, 2002, at 20:27:44
> My question is if there would seem to be a potential negative interaction btw. Inositol and these drugs. I read one study that showed that Inositol cannot "boost" SSRIs, but since there is really not very much research out there on the actual mechanism of Inositol, I still wonder.

> jflangeHey, it's best to follow your own feelings about how a particular supplement is working for you. Because inositol can work as an antidepressant, it's possible that the dose you're on plus 2 meds will take a while to get used to or may need to be adjusted. Or -- if you really like the inositol, try lowering your meds with the assitance of ur doctor.
But I've seen some neat research on inositol at http://www.biopsychiatry.com/inositol.htm
i'd check out the study on inositol and goldfish. seems like it makes them a little happier, too. :D
