Paxil CR - *which* side effects reduced?

Posted by tortoise on September 14, 2002, at 23:27:27

I'm not entirely clear on *which* side effects are supposedly lessened with Paxil CR. From what I can tell, it seems to be namely nausea.

I'm more interested in the weight gain and sexual side effects which caused me to stop Paxil.

Paxil worked for my depression/GAD/SP better than any other AD. I stopped because I gained 30 lbs. on it. After trying many other SSRI's (and Neurontin), I am currently on Prozac (20 mg) and Effexor XR (150 mg.) But the weight has returned with the Effexor, and my anxiety is as bad as ever.

Can anybody offer me a better explanation of the differences between Paxil and Paxil CR than what the advertising copy offers? :-)

Thanks!
