DMAE... a mystery

Posted by turalizz on September 18, 2002, at 15:01:26

Does anyone have a clue about the pharmacology of DMAE? Some say it's a precursor to acetylcholine, some say it is a peripheral choline metabolism inhibitor, but studies do not suggest a memory improvement due to DMAE use.

I am experimenting now with a low dose, 130mg. I felt some positive effects on the second day: increase in sociability, increase in energy, mild insomnia, mood enhancement, but not any change in memory or cognitive functions. (I must say that there may be some synergistic effect. I am taking a lot of other stuff, all in small doses; selegiline, moclobemide, vinpocetine, vitamins, etc.)

Anyone has experience or further knowledge about DMAE? Much appreciated.

thanks,

cem
