That isn't how my anxiety was described, but I'd like to tell you how Celexa (SSRI) affected my anxiety.
The best way to describe it is this: before Celexa, there was always an anxiousness; an alertness to everything that was happening & a feeling that I had to be aware of & take care of everything & everybody. Almost immediately, on Celexa, that anxiety disappeared & it was the difference between listening to a radio station where there's STATIC all the time along with the music or talking. With Celexa, the static is gone. I still have a FULL RANGE of feelings & emotions, but that horrible anxiety is gone.
> I have been suffering from GAD (genarilzed anxiety disrorder) with occasional depression for 5 years. It seems GAD is uncommon, as it is rare that I hear anyone else talking about it.
> I have had moderate results with CBT. I have also had been taking 75mg Effexor XR for 2 months with mixed results. The GAD has decreased but I am always tired and feel "wirery" at times. Is there anyone else with GAD and what results have you had with meds and/or CBT.
