Hi Lucky,

I was tired when I was on 37.5mg but now that I am on 75 I have energy to burn most days. I only slept 5 hours last night so I napped today, but usually if I get 8 hours sleep, I go strong all day. You might find when and if your Dr. increases your dose it might help.

I'm finding lately that the effexor no longer lasts the whole day. By 4ish I'm getting irritable and with a 3 and 5 year old running around irritability come easily enough as it is. I'm schedualed to see my Dr. some time late next week but we'll see, I my opt to go earlier if it becomes to bothersome.

However if you increase your dose and it doesn't help try something else. I was on Paxil for 5 years and thought that I was great, other than I gained 50lbs. But now that I am on effexor I see a huge difference in myself. I'm not craving sweets like I did (I actually went 4 days with out any sugar this week, never done that before) I don't sleep 2 hours every afternoon and 10 hours a night, I'm less irritable (and I thought I wasn't too bad before) I actually have a sex drive (I thought it was lost durring child birth) I've become organized again not only mentally but my house as well. My husband can hardly believe the difference in me.

I guess I thought the Paxil was working because I wasn't crying anymore and I've been on it so long that I forgot what it was like to be "normal". The only reason we changed now was that I couldn't take the weight gain anymore, I struggles daily and exercised tons with no results (I'm in better cardio and strenght shape now that I was 10 years ago, but weight 50lbs more). I think since I've started I've been able to exercise better and I'm even down 3lbs. So just remember effexor is not the only one out there if it's not working at making you feel "normal" again.

Keep me posted.
