Celexa to Lexapro: not always easy

Posted by babs on September 30, 2002, at 12:15:33

I know several people have posted about experiencing physical problems when switching from celexa to lexapro- I am one of them. I had been on 60 mg of celexa and switched to 10 mg of lexapro. SUPPOSEDLY there would be no withdrawal in making the switch but I have felt like hell physically. My doctor called me this am after going to a lexapro conference this weekend and said they are no longer recommending that someone go from 60 mg of celexa to 10 mg of lexapro because there are problems with withdrawal. He told me to take 20mg of celexa whenever I feel withdrawal symptoms come on. So for those of you out there, celexa withdrawal may be an issue if you are on a high dose of celexa.
