Hi Babs -
If you are OK with this question - I'm curious if the first time you were prescribed Risperdal (or if you were already on an antipsychotoic - whichever was the first) - did your Dr. inform you of the risk of tardive movement disorder and have you sign "informed consent" release?
Risperdal has a relatively high rate of causing tardive movement disorders - (I obtained abnormal movements from a similar atypical) - and even at very low doses they are supposed to inform.
Used in mood disorders - these drugs are higher risk to cause tardive movements.
Also - continued use often "masks" problem - only going off ALL antipsychotics and other "masking" meds like benzo's and anticonvulsants sometimes - is the problem often discovered.
Not trying to scare - but just curious if you knew about that (if your Dr. informed you as per law) - ...
Thanks for your time -
Chad

> My doctor just added adderall. I am currently on 40 mg of celexa and will probably go up to 60 mg next week. I am also on 1 mg of risperdal. I took Wellbutrin before for the ADD (I have depression, anxiety and obsessive thoughts) and it worked OK but not great. I REALLY need something to help me concentrate but I'm afarid Adderall will make me amped or make the obsessions worse. They are pretty much under control with the risperdal and I'd hate to mess with that. Anyone? Oh- won't go on adderall until I adjust my dosage of celexa and adjust to it.
