Hi.
I am wondering if there is any other people out there on the same combo that my pdoc has me on,
i am on 75 mg of Effexor XR and 5 mg of Lexapro, along with 1.25 mg of Olanzapine and 0.25 mg of Xanax twice a day. I am a little concerned about the Effexor XR and Lexapro together, let me tell you why my pdoc has me on both, and then i would appreciate some comments or suggestions!I have been diagnosed with Deppresion and Anxiety for the last 8 years, and have tried almost every anidepressant under the sun. the only two that i had success on have been Effexor(felt GREAT for 4 year), and Zoloft did fine for 1 year but both pooped out on me. At this time i have tried Effexor XR for the second time and been on it for over 6 weeks, since the first time this second time arround has not been the same, i cant go above 75 mg of Effexor without having severe side effects and my mood is just horrible, so my pdoc put me on Lexapro about 5 days ago, along with the Effexor XR, and he said that it was very normal to take two AD at the same time, so here i am today on my 4th day on Lexapro and so far all i have had is side effects (i thought this was a non side effect AD?)anyway, i belive these side effects are comming from the Lexapro, these side effects are feeling spacey, and having hot flashes along with a realy bad dry mouth and mild headache, but so far better than when i took it's sister Celexa, but my mood is still bad and it feels like there is nothing that is going to help me.
I guess my reason for my post is to see if it's normal to prescribe both of these drugs together, since they are so alike, and also to see if others that are on Lexapro are having the same side effects that i am having on it, and wondering if its to early to quit Lexapro or to give it more time i thought Lexapro was a new WONDER DRUG?.Thanks
