OCD/thyroid

Posted by bookgurl99 on November 17, 2002, at 22:43:47

At this time of the year, my thyroid always crashes. (I have hashimoto's thyroiditis, which in my case causes hypothyroidism.)

When my thyroid crashes, I become correspondingly more obsessive. (I start _planning_ things a lot, making lists of things to do, making schedules, etc., but not necessarily carrying them out. But writing them down just makes me feel better somehow.) It usually takes a few months to straighten out my thyroid, and when the weather warms up both my physical and mental health improve.

Does anyone else see an increase in obsessive behavior with low thyroid? And is there anything you do to deal with it?
