I went to the doctor this time because my heart was skipping and fluttering before and during my panic attacks. Is there anyone out there who can briefly tell me of their experiences with Lexpro only. I would just like to hear something positive, but would also like to hear the possible negative aspects also. I'm a little frightened about starting an anti-depressant after so many years of suffering through it. Also, In the past, I had never experienced the skipping and fluttering of the heartbeat....has anyone else out there experienced this? Please let me know.

> Yes, I have experienced the heart skipping and fluttering with anxiety. It's very scary. I, too, am on Lexapro - for both depression and anxiety. I have been on it over two months. Started on 10 mg, then up to 15, and now this past weekend up to 20. So far it's been more effective for the depression than the anxiety, although it has definitely helped with the anxiety. Now that I've increased again to 20 mg, I am hopeful it will help even more with the anxiety.

Now everything has evened out, and I have a ton of energy all day, and sleep like a rock all night.

>I too began with 10mg which was fine for the depression but I was still having a few symptoms of anxiety, so went to 20mg. That did the trick. I had some gastro gyrations for awhile but other than that, no problems. I like this drug the best and I have taken more than a few. Hope it works well for you too.
