I didn't notice a huge weight gain on Effexor XR Eve, but honestly, that's a side effect with just about any anti-depressant. You always have to sacrifice something to get what you want. If you want to feel better, then you should probably get used to the idea that you "might" be carrying around a few extra pounds. I mean, watch your weight, and if it starts to shoot up drastically, change medications. You only need a 48 hour dry-out period from Effexor before going onto another anti-depressant. But weight gain is common, and as long as you watch over it and exercise and eat right and all that other good stuff, it shouldn't be that significant.Besides, would you rather be carrying another 5-10lbs or going through the way that you were feeling before taking the AD?
