Sleep studies have clearly shown that both temazepam and clonazepam restore sleep architecture, which is to say, promote the proper amount of restorative stage 3 and 4 sleep most often missing in subjects who awake feeling unrested. Oxazepam is another alternative, as it is a precursor to temazepam.Just quick note: trazodone also promotes slow wave sleep.
