Yes you have to follow a special diet. you must avoid aged cheeses, tap beer, dry sausage and more. These foods contain a substance called TYRAMINE. Too much of this substance will produce a hypertensive crises (elevated blood pressure). You also must avoid certain medications.

I can say that I never have had any problems with the diet. It does not annoy me.
