Are you sure they are not vascular headaches? I ask because propanolol is effective at preventing and treating vascular headaches like migraines, clusters. Since propanolol works for you it suggests that you are having vascular headaches. Have you thought of trying one of the newer anti-migraine drugs? Their effectiveness or lack thereof might be diagnostic.
