HELP effexor and celexa at the same time?(Dr.Bob)

Posted by chefdog35 on January 29, 2003, at 15:21:30

4 yrs ago I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression and I was put on celexa and zyprexa and did very well but gained alot of weight with zyprexa so switched to seroquel had a rough time of it I got nervous and started to get depressed during this transaction. My pdoc put me on klonopin to help with the nervousness and then gave me effexor also to help with the depression and anxiety. But I am also taking celexa she said that was ok but I need to eventually come off the celexa. But I am totally afraid of stopping the celexa because I am now just going back to work after being out for 3 months.I dont want to be out of work any more due to diffaculties from stopping the celexa. But I would like to go up on the efexor I am now taking 75 mg but still feel a little nervous when I go out.But also am doing very well with it the effexor havent had any side effects other than a little nervousness.I am now taking 200 mg seroquel,75mg effexor,40 mg celexa and other meds for sudden onset of type 2 diabetes caused by zyprexa .I was one of the 2% to get this from zyprexa.60 mg propranol for blood pressure and to block adrenalin.I am worried that taking the effexor and celexa at the same time could cause seratonin syndrome or other unwanted effects. Please let me know what you think I should do or if I have anything to worry about. Thank You (Chefdog35@yahoo.com)or just answer my post. Thanks again.
