When I would suddenly flip on the lights, everything took on a 'liquid', 'trailing' effect-- as if I'd dosed on dextromethorphan (Robitussin). Now I haven't been stupid enough to trip on cough syrup in years, but I thought these brief little glimpses into a time when I *was* so stupid were actually pretty cool. Many former (and current) hallucinogen users refer to these as 'free trips' :-) Oh, dextromethorphan, by the way, is the only active ingredient in Vicks 44 Cough and Robitussin Maximum Strength Cough and in doses of 200-1500mg is a dissociative anesthetic; similar to PCP and ketamine, but nothing like either.

Last night I was out with some friends and smoked a blunt, actually mainly because my stomach was so overturned from the Luvox... the stuff makes me nauseus as hell-- the visual flashbacks started immediately. I was once again fully immersed in the DXM experience. It was enjoyable, but it lasted until the high wore off. Very, very strange....

I have been spending too much time and money trying to get my brain to feel normal again- I wouldn't f**k it up more by smoking pot. I smoked pot (and drank and did other drugs) for way too many years and I think it may have caused my depression/anxiey, or at least added to my screwed-up brain chemistry.
Use alternative methods for your nausea, as stated above.
I did have a flashback experience while taking effexer. I saw trails, and moving sidewalks, etc. I felt like I was reliving an old acid trip. I didn't like it and stopped the effexor immediately.
