Blockade of D2 receptors is responsible for the action of most APs. No one knows what specific dopamine receptors are involved in ADD as far as I know. Ritalin I believe is a general dopamine agonist in that I think ritalin blocks reuptake of dopamine, increasing the effect of dopamine against all dopamine receptors.
